What’s going on with LaunchIt?

At this time, development is on hold. I do want to update this app, but my true goal is to have better integrated search into the device. With limited widget functionality in the current Android SDK, the only true way to do this would be to write a new Home app, which I am not ready to do at this point. With the introduction to search API in Android 1.6, it is something I would like to tap into – but does not really get me closer to my goal. There is an app on the market, that is free, that does this quite well! I was pretty dissapointed with the way they integrated search.

There are some things that I would like to have fixed.  However, for its’ basic functionality, LaunchIt works very well. 1.5 users who do not have the built-in Android search capabilities, LaunchIt will will give you this and more.

I understand some people want to see an update to this application.  I am undecided how I will continue with development on this – I will probably switch this up to free for people to checkout, and may either update it – or move it into a better project. LaunchIt was my first Android project, and was quite a large one to take on for a newbie. Now that I have a better understanding of things, I would probably do a full rewrite for the next implementation.
