Hey! Thanks for the skin! I only have one problem with it. Its too large for my 1280×800 resolution. Is there any quick fix I could do? Let me know by email if it's not to much to ask.

Just add -scale 0.5 to your Run Arguments, either in Eclipse 'Run
Configuration' or if you start with the emulator executable at the command
line)…

I use .5 at 1024×768, which means it will be 50% of the original size.

This is related to the LCD Density in the hardware.ini file for the skin…
I'm not positive, but since the default WVGA800 skin has the LCD Density at
240.. I would imagine that is correct for the Nexus One. If you really want
the density your used to – you could change it. I think the standard density
is 160, but it won't be what your users would see on a Nexus One.

If you use Eclipse to start the emulator, it's under the 'Run configurations', Target / Additional Emulator Command Line Options.
Otherwise, if you start the emulator from command line, you just add the parameter there.

Also note, you can use dpi as a scale option, like '-scale 96dpi' – matching
this to the dpi of your monitor.

I’ve used a few skins and will continue to use them as it does a phenomenal job at preventing scratches and doesn’t hold finger prints like the bare screen does on my G1. I plan to get it for the Nexus as well.

It's fairly straightforward to create a skin..

Each version of the android platform comes with several default skins which

you can find located in the directories under

<android-sdk-base-directory>/platforms/android-X/skins. An android skin

consists of a single layout file referencing a number of image files. Check

out some of the default skins to get a grasp on what is going on…

First, Describe the parts of the skin. The default skin parts are portrait,

landscape, device details, and controls – this is done in the parts { }

section (you can even add your own parts, I believe). Be aware that some of

these are required. You might just want to change the background for

landscape/portrait/controls that will be used and also modify the device

display size for the appropriate device type (i.e. QVGA, HVGA, etc..)

Second, in the layouts { } section, you describe where everything goes with

size and x/y coordinates for each layout – portrait and landscape.

It takes a little playing around, if you mess something up, you might get

unexpected results or the emulator may not even start up. When you are

finished, make sure to copy your skin into each platform folder you will

want to use it for – platform/android-X/skins/</android-sdk-base-directory>
